Some of my favorite websites

I am not formally affiliated with any of these sites or companies.  They just happen to be among some of the sites I go to regularly and I thought you might find them useful as well.  I do occasionally however use affiliate links as a way to help support my business.

1.     Quilters Paradise

Although the interface isn’t great, their free quilting calculator is my go-to. The nice thing about it is that it retains the calculations when going from the border calculator to the backing and to the binding calculator.  It’s not a big thing but it saves you from having to re-enter the numbers each time which I like.

2.     Etsy.com is a great site for finding those hard-to-find fabrics when you need more of a fabric that is no longer available at your local quilt shop or your favorite online shop.  It is also a great place to fall in love with out-of-print (OOP) collections.

3.     Riley Blake Designs is a great site for free patterns

4.     Fat Quarter Shop is a great shop for all things quilting (and cross stitch), including free patterns.  Their interface makes shopping easy and they always have a great selection. (I do have an affiliate program with FQS which helps support this website but they really are my favorite online shop.)

5.     Robert Kaufman is one of the leading fabric manufacturers in the quilting world.  Their site is great for lots of free patterns.

6.     Villa Rosa sells postcard-sized patterns.  They can be found in many quilt shops and online at their website.  The post cards are an inexpensive way to build up your pattern library.  If you start a Villa Rosa collection, I highly recommend downloading their free app which will allow you to track and organize the ones you already have and the ones you want.

7.     Missouri Star Quilt Company is another great website with a nice selection of products.  If you are like me and always in the market for more fabric, they offer really good Daily Deals…always 50% or more off.  The only drawback is that there is often a limit of 1.  For some items, 1 is sufficient.  For things like layer cakes or jelly roll, 1 might not be enough but it is still a savings of $20 or more.  They also offer longarming services if you do not have a local longarmer.

8.     Urban Elementz and My Creative Stitches are my 2 go-to sites for finding digital pantographs (quilting stitch patterns).  Of course the sites/formats you can use will depend on what your long armer’s machine can handle but most machines can work with their standard formats.
