Why I like this pattern: This pattern is a bit tricky but a lot of fun once you become comfortable working with jelly rolls. I think it works great with any type of print. It is by far my favorite jelly roll pattern.
Notes: I recommend using heavy starch as these blocks are cut on the bias. This makes them extra stretchy. Without using heavy starch, your blocks can become warped which will make it near impossible to have a topper that lays flat and is easy to square and quilt. Trust me on this, haha. I didn’t starch my strips the first time I tried this pattern and eventually I gave up out of frustration when trying to attach my blocks. The second time, I got my blocks together but the top was wonky and gave my longarmer fits 😖 Now that I pre-starch my strips, the top goes together nicely and my longarmer doesn’t curse my name, haha.
